The county of Elk Grove is all land with no part covered by water. Found in 1850, this county was the home base for the gold miners during the ‘The Great Californian Gold Rush’. With a climate varying between 44 and 110 degree Fahrenheit, the county receives an average rainfall of 22 inches.

This county which in the past depended on agriculture is now a residential area in the Sacramento suburb. Housing developments are seen in areas which locals call ‘Laguna West’ and ‘Laguna Creek ’. Elk Grove was finally incorporated as a part of the city in 2000.

With about 38 elementary, 8 middle schools, several colleges and public libraries that cater to the needs of about 62,000 students and aspirants, the county also has a six year university program in a religious college called Quest Seminary.
