Know All About Roseville County

Are you new to the city of Sacramento and settled in the Roseville County? Then you will surely need a tour of the place.

Roseville’s original settlers were the Dakota and Ojibway. In 1843 the white settlers came to this place for the first time. Rose Township was established in 1850 and the place is named after one of its first settlers ‘Isaac Rose’.

Roseville attracts visitors with is perfect weather conditions - cool winters, hot and dry summers and enjoyable rainy seasons.

A notable event in the history of Roseville is on April 28th 1973, when 18 boxcars loaded with bombs began detonating in the Southern Pacific Railroad yard after one of the cars caught fire. The explosions caused damage to 5500 building up to 6800 feet away. In the late 1990s the Union Pacific Railroad uncovered more unexploded ordnance. The reason of the initial car fire has never been determined.

The education system in Roseville is served by the Roseville Area Schools. Higher education is provided by Minneapolis Business College, National American College and Northwestern College. An attraction for students here is the Roseville library which has over 300,000 volumes covering various subjects.

The economy of Roseville is a mix of housing, small and large employers. The city has a variety of businesses located in it. The recent addition of large retail centers and Auto Malls in the city have contributed significantly to the sales tax recipient at the county level.

Some of the major employers in Roseville are Hewlett-Packard, Union Pacific Railroad, NEC Electronics, PRIDE Industries, and City of Roseville etc.

The Roseville Press-Tribune is the weekly newspaper that operates in town. Rocklin and Roseville Today are independent online news sources.

Currently, the city is getting prepared and decorated for Christmas and is waiting eagerly to welcome the New Year with glory.

The city of Roseville is very rich in arts and culture. Some of the upcoming events in the city of Roseville are:

· Tree lighting ceremony on December 4th at Civic Center, 311, Vernon Street between 5 and 8 pm

· Festive Family Holiday Concert at Roseville theatre on December 5th at 8 pm.

· Magic Circle Theatre presents a Special presentation on December 20th at 2 and 8 pm, December 21st and 22nd at 7 pm and December 23rd at 2 and 8 pm.

· Roses Parade from 30th December 2009 to 2nd January 2010 at Roseville Parks and Recreation.
