Employee Relocation

I work for a private organization that had given me a comfortable home, which otherwise I would not be able to afford myself. I have worked in Florida for 5 years and that place was home to me. But sadly, whatever is good (or bad) does not stay forever. I had to relocate to Forks. Now, that came hard on me. Relocation meant looking for a new home in a new place that would satisfy all my family’s needs. I would also have to look for a school for my kids. Then I would have to move my family and blend into a new society along with them.

Surprisingly my company had more to offer. They would provide a relocation package that covered almost every aspect of relocation. First and foremost was the task of looking for a home in a good locality. The relocation firm looked up a very comfortable home. What I admire most about the firm is that this locality they chose was very ideal for new dwellers of the city with all basic facilities like schools, departmental stores, general stores and medical facilities by its side.

The company took care of all the legal paper work like school admissions and real estate deals including the selling of my home in Florida through a real estate firm. I was also given more time off to get to know my surrounding by visiting the local club and getting to know the people in the area. The company also offered assistance for my spouse in getting a new job here at Forks.

Relocation is always a challenge to both the employee and the employer. The main services of relocation firms are to provide risk free relocation services that involve moving residential and commercial belongings with complete care.

The relocation plan of any organization usually provides minimum transportation charges to the employee along with a few days off to settle in the new city. Some employees look at this plan as a meager incentive. But today, most of the employees have accepted it as they would have moved irrespective of whether the incentive was given or not. These are usually the younger professionals who look at what the job has to offer and don’t have to think about moving families, finding schools, etc.

One of the advantages of relocation of government employees is that they are offered new homes and the government takes care of relocating the family. And in special cases the family is also provided with a personal vehicle.
